Why we started Ascend

We watched the first wave of Amazon aggregators raise billions of dollars—and then fail. Not because the opportunity wasn’t real. The opportunity was very real. They failed because they sent finance teams to do an operator’s job. They paid too much, moved too fast, and never actually understood the businesses they were buying. We are not that company. Ascend was built by people who have sold on Amazon, run warehouses, managed PPC campaigns, and negotiated with suppliers. We have made the mistakes ourselves—on our own brands, with our own money—before we ever made them with yours. That history is not a liability. It is the entire point.
